Lupine and Mt. St. Elias, Wrangell St. Elias National Park, Alaska.

Lupine and Mt. St. Elias, Icy Bay, Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve, Alaska.

Lupine fields and the calm waters of Icy Bay sit beneath the towering peak of Mount. St. Elias, an 18 008′ peak, 2nd highest peak in Canada, 2nd highest peak in the US (it sits on the border of both countries).

My first ever trip to Icy Bay.

Camping with this view is a pretty nice option for any trip.

The lupine were in great bloom this spring, and finally the mountain popper out for all to see.

Of course, “all” was simply myself. There wasn’t another human in the area for many miles.

Mount St. Elias is the highest coastal peak, and the St. Elias Range the highest coastal mountain range, in the world. Mount St. Elias, Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, Alaska.
