Mt. St. Elias and alpenglow

Mt. St. Elias, Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve, Alaska.

Strong evening alien glow on the peak of Mt. St. Elias.

Mt. St. Elias is a tough one to shoot. Primarily, it’s somewhat inaccessible.

More than that, the best places to really see it up close and personal are from the south side of the mountain, meaning you don’t get the mountain bathed in alien glow. Unless you go in the winter.

Then it’s even harder to get to and reach, and the challenges simply increase.
