What an awesome album it is; Shadows and Light, by Joni Mitchell. A classic!

Sitting high on a ridge on winter’s solstice one day, I couldn’t get over how awesome the light was. Amazing light in the park in the winter, and I had it all to myself. I played with various compositions on this little snowbank for about an hour or so. Finally I headed back to the cabin after dusk. What a great way to spend the shortest day of year, and celebrate the onset of longer days. The photo is just an abstract pattern, catching light and shadow, from a snow covered ridgeline, Wrangell St. Elias National Park and Preserve, Alaska.
